We hope this newsletter finds you all well and in good spirits as we start to plan the coming year after Annus Horribilis.

To get started, several members have been producing and recording short plays which have all been posted on the Trinity Website under the title Radio Trinity“. Pop along and have a listen?  Each lasts for a few minutes and are well worth the time. Click the image below to go there now.

Our 2021/2022 plan is below but just bear in mind that all schedules are dependent upon restrictions lifting as planned by the government. The salient dates being;
Monday 12th April – Non-essential retail and hospitality venues will be allowed to serve people outdoors
Monday 17th May – Indoor hospitality will reopen including theatres & cinemas with 50% audiences
Monday 21st June – The government hopes to be in a position to remove all legal limits on social contact

The full govt timeline can be seen by clicking the link below

We are therefore planning to re-open the Theatre doors for social meetings on Wednesday 19th May and Saturday 22nd May.  Some repairs and maintenance is required to the hall and helping hands will be welcome.

Our opening show will be Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads, directed by Paul Taylor and is to be performed 8th to 11th September 2021.  This has been in rehearsal during lockdown and is fully cast, however we understand at least one of the cast hasn’t learnt her lines yet (no names or surprises there then)

Following closely will be the 3rd Junior’s Showcase on 9th and 10th October (Saturday evening and Sunday matinee).  Joe Battye and Rachael Sharpe are directing and producing this one.  The Juniors are also setting up a Junior’s Committee and always looking for new members to take part in their productions.

We are also working closely with John Hopkinson at Tankersley Welfare Hall with a view to touring one of our shows so Bob Willerton will be directing “Sod’s Law” by Doncaster playwright Will Templeton on 14th, 15th and 16th October at Pilley with a further 3 shows the following week at the Trin on 21st, 22nd and 23rd October.  The play has 4 female and 4 male parts and auditions will be after 21st June to give once Bob time to recover from a rather nasty bout of Delhi belly.

We have started planning the Panto which will be performed on 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd January 2022.  Jane Laverack will be directing her own version of Dick Whittington with the assistance of Joe Battye.  She will need assistance from members where necessary particularly costumes.  Read-throughs/auditions will be on 15th and 22nd September.

The AGM will be Wednesday 14th July 2021 at the Trinity Hall.  The usual committee elections will take place with several vacancies becoming vacant.  Notably Graham Myers tenure as Chairman is at an end and he is not standing for re-election.  A formal agenda will be produced and circulated in June.

We will look forward to seeing you all again very soon but in the meantime, stay safe.
